Jo Nield answers the question of "Where does the sand in a desert come from?" for the BBC World Service Radio's CrowdScience Programme

For the programme Jo spent the day with the School terrestrial laser scanner that she normally uses in deserts, but this time on a dune at East Head, talking about how we measure the initiation and migration of dunes as well as the types of sand you find in sand dunes.
