Plan ahead

With rail strikes affecting travel nationally during Winter Graduation, we strongly encourage you to plan your journey ahead of time and check in advance for any disruptions that could impact your ability to attend your ceremony. Rail strikes are currently planned for Tuesday 13 December and Wednesday 14 December, with possible disruption on Thursday 15 December as well.

Shuttle buses 

The University will be providing a free Shuttle Bus Service for graduands and their guests.

Shuttle buses will be operating every 10 minutes from 07:30 to 20:30 for graduands and guests.

The Shuttle buses are running from:

Park and Ride location is on Avenue Campus. Guests who park at Avenue Campus will need to walk to the bus stop on the Avenue, Oakmount Avenue bus stop (on the main road), as the bus won't come directly into campus or to Highfield Rd.

The shuttle service will be available for Graduands and their guests who are permitted to travel on the shuttle service or any UniLink bus on the 13-15 December 2022 by showing their Graduation ceremony ticket or confirmation email.

Car parking

While there is no parking available at the O2 Guildhall, there are several car parks in the area that are less than a 10-minute walk from the venue.

• West Quay Car Park - 2,489 spaces
• West Quay Podium - 1,500 spaces
• Grosvenor Square Car Park - 620 spaces
• Bedford Place Car Park - 289 spaces
• Marlands Car Park - 801 spaces
• NCP Portland Terrace - 605 spaces

Unfortunately, there are no reserved accessible parking spaces available at the Guildhall. Graduates or guests who have informed us of accessibility requirements can be dropped off on the forecourt but the driver will need to use one of the car parks listed above.

The Civic Centre forecourt does have disabled bays for Blue Badge holders, but please note that the Civic Centre forecourt has a limit of 2 hours so guests should use the car parks listed above.
