Dr Jane Prichard is interim Head of School of Health Sciences at Southampton. Jane has the responsibility for developing and implementing the vision and strategy within the School, aligned to the University and Faculty strategic priorities, objectives and values.
Jane is a psychologist with research interests in team performance, trust, knowledge management and new models of service delivery in urgent and emergency care. Jane also makes a major contribution to the educational provision of leadership development in Health Sciences. She leads on modules across both the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum and is a supervisor to MSc and PhD students.

Main responsibilities
Dr Ellen Kitson-Reynolds is interim Deputy Head of School (Education) in Health Sciences at Southampton with an executive responsibility for managing and leading the development of the School’s education portfolio and enhancing student experience.
Ellen is a registered nurse and midwife and is the Lead Midwife for Education and Professional Midwifery Advocate. Ellen’s research interests and module leadership include transition from student to qualified practitioners, clinical decision making and autonomous practice. Ellen supervises undergraduate students undertaking clinical service evaluations and is supervisor to MSc and PhD students.

Main responsibilities
Prof Claire Foster is interim Deputy Head of School (Research and Enterprise) in Health Sciences at Southampton. She has executive responsibility for managing and leading the development of the Health Sciences’ research and enterprise portfolio.
Claire is Professor of Psychosocial Oncology and Director of the Centre for Psychosocial Research in Cancer: CentRIC+. She makes a major contribution to research and enterprise in Health Sciences. Her research focusses on understanding the impact of cancer (including family history of cancer) and its treatment on everyday lives and how equipped people feel to manage this, and creating and testing solutions to support self-management and decision making. Claire is committed to ensuring excellence in our teaching, research and enterprise activities. She is a supervisor to MN, MSc and PhD students.

As Head of Department for Nursing, Midwifery and Health, Paula is responsible for implementing the school strategy and ensuring that all staff work towards agreed objectives reflecting the university strategy. Paula provides strong, creative, academic leadership, striving for excellence and distinctiveness in the department’s education provision.
Paula is a nurse specialising in mental health and is a member of the Mental Health Nursing Team. She also contributes to pre-registration nursing education in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and leads a mental health nursing module.
Paula is a personal academic tutor, delivering teaching and is involved in marking.

As Head of Department for Allied Health Professions, Julian is responsible for implementing the school strategy within the department and ensuring that all staff work towards agreed objectives reflecting the university strategy and the 10- year plan.
Julian provides strong, creative, academic leadership, striving for excellence and distinctiveness in all the pre-registration education provision. He actively contributes to education as module lead, personal academic tutor and contributes to teaching, marking and student research supervision.
Julian is a Principle Teaching Fellow, undertaking research into practice education and identity in chronic pain.
