England international and winning goal scorer, Rickie Lambert, is supporting collaborative work between Health Sciences, Arthritis UK and Southampton FC to find ways of preventing injuries and protecting players from developing arthritis in later life.  Find out more in our short video.

A one-year project led by Dr Ann-Marie Hughes has been featured on page five of Research Matters published by the Multiple Sclerosis Society.  Dr Ann-Marie has been award £40,000 to explore whether a device called ‘SAIL', which combines FES and robotics, could give people with MS a better way of controlling arm movement. 

Sara Demain from Health Sciences and Chris Freeman from ECS are co-investigators on the project and Trish Sampson is the research fellow. To date five people with MS have been recruited.

News of Health Sciences' being awarded £9million from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to help tackle major health issues in the South has been covered on the front page of the Daily Echo as well being featured on BBC South Today earlier in the week.
