This year's lecture is to be presented by Southampton alumna Rosemary Squire OBE.

'From Woking to the World'

Southampton alumna (BA Spanish, 1979) Rosemary Squire OBE, is Joint CEO of the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) – the largest live theatre business in the world.  Over the last twenty years, the company that she founded has seen extraordinary growth taking it from the Woking suburbs to the bright lights of Broadway.

In this talk, Rosemary will give a founder’s perspective on growing a business and explain how ATG developed a revolutionary way of working, convincing private equity investors that theatre was a prospect with huge potential.

A past President of the Society of London Theatre, Rosemary is also a National Member of the Board of Arts Council England.  She is a past winner of the CBI Real Business First Women Award, was number 16 in the inaugural Woman’s Hour Power List and for the last five years has topped The Stage 100 annual guide to the 100 most influential people in UK theatre with her husband, Sir Howard Panter.  In 2014 she was named UK Entrepreneur of the Year.

This lecture will be chaired by Professor Anne Curry, Dean of Humanities and Professor in Medieval History.

This is a free lecture, to attend please book your place via the Online Store website.  Refreshments will be served before the lecture at 17:30.
