Event details

An SCNR event in collaboration with University of Hull. Sponsored by the English Association.

How do we define who we are - by accent and ancestry, by region, city or village, by birthright or by residency? Have these perceptions of who we are changed over time? This event seeks to bring together sixth-form students from Northern and Southern colleges and schools to explore issues of regional identity in Britain from the nineteenth century to the present. The event comprises a series of shorts talks by academics, poetry and prose writing workshops led by published writers, and a round-table discussion.
