Why are there dramatic differences in health experience both between countries and within countries?
Things like infant mortality, maternal health, long-term conditions like diabetes, and life expectancy vary greatly between different parts of the world. There are also dramatic differences across smaller geographical areas like individual cities or even neighbouring areas.
Our Public Health Summer School provides a fantastic opportunity to explore a range of topics on this theme including critical issues in global health (such as HIV), key health challenges of our time like obesity, multimorbidity and long Covid, major social problems like child poverty and food insecurity, and climate change and its impact on future health - an issue that will affect us all (though unequally).
A range of experts in their field will present cutting edge research in these areas and give you the opportunity to consider whether you want to pursue further study in Public Health.
This topic is run by Simon Fraser, Associate Professor of Public Health (Medicine).
