Lawrence Singleton Awarded Student Paper Award

Lawrence Singleton, one of the doctoral researchers, was awarded First Place in the Physical Acoustics Student Paper competition following the 178th Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA), held in San Diego in December 2019.

The award was granted by the ASA 's Technical Committee on Physical Acoustics for his paper, “ Metaheuristic algorithm-based optimisation of an elastic metamaterial for robust control of multiple modes of vibration in a structure ”, which presented a comparison study of several different optimisation algorithms.

The paper will also be included in the Proceedings of Meetings on Acoustics, Volume 39.
