Southampton Law School well represented in mooting competition
A team of students from Southampton Law School participated in a mooting competition against teams from five other institutions on 5 March at Clyde & Co’s offices in London.
Each team was given a moot topic, and was asked to take a specific side on the matter. The topic for the moot was based on a marine insurance problem encompassing unseaworthiness and payment of claims. Matthew Channon, Teaching Fellow at the University of Southampton Law School was moot director.
Despite a superb effort, our students did not make it to the final, however they gave an excellent account of themselves. City University of London took home the title after a tough challenge.
The moot was judged by professionals from the University of Exeter, DAC Beachcroft, 4 New Square, Drystone Chambers and 2 Temple Gardens. Judging the final were Lady Justice Gloster, Peter MacDonald Eggers QC and Tony Baumgartner, Partner at Clyde & Co.
The competition was sponsored by 7KBW, Clyde & Co, Informa Law and the British Insurance Law Association.
