Professor James Davey presents at London offices of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

Published: 5 February 2019

Professor James Davey recently visited the London offices of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to present his research on ‘The Regulation of Price & Claims Optimisation’.

He was joined by Professor Sarah Nield to discuss with the FCA the contribution that Southampton Law School academics can make to emerging legal and social issues. Sarah Nield’s expertise in mortgage, finance and consumer protection dovetails with James Davey’s interest in behaviourally informed regulation in insurance markets.

The Financial Conduct Authority is the conduct regulator for 58,000 financial services firms and financial markets in the UK and the prudential regulator for over 18,000 of those firms.  It aims to make markets work well – for individuals, for business, large and small, and for the economy as a whole.
