Southampton Law School lecturer, Dean Taylor, presented work in progress for his PhD thesis at the annual conference of the Young Property Lawyers’ Forum (YPLF).

The Young Property Lawyers’ Forum (YPLF) is an informal network for junior and senior property lawyers. The paper was entitled The Boundaries Within Property Guardianship: a Polanyian Framing?

The conference was the first to take place in person since the COVID-19 pandemic and took place on 1-2 June 2023 at Universität Osnabrück. The conference was hosted by UOS Fachbereich Rechtswissenschaften and Internationale Juristenvereinigung Osnabrück (IJVO). The conference was sponsored by Universität Osnabrück and financial service firm, HLB Klein Monstermann.

The conference theme was Property Law and its Boundaries and the papers delivered ranged from historical, theoretical, doctrinal, and transnational approaches to interrogating how property law operates in society.

Commenting on the conference, Taylor said: “this was a great opportunity to share my current work on property guardianship and receive feedback in such a supportive environment. It was also wonderful to learn of the rich scholarship being produced by emerging scholars in the field across Europe. I very much look forward to building on the networks established at this conference into the future.”
