Commendation for SungLyul Yoon

SungLyul Yoon has received a special commendation from the panel of judges in the London Ear Festival of Contemporary Music Composers' Competition 2013.
Over 150 entries from around the world were received in the competition. SungLyul's commended work Old Scottish Psalm Tune is scored for clarinet, violin, cello and piano and is based on three Scottish tunes (Martyrs tune, Kings tune and The Stilt) from the Scottish Psalter (1615). Originally from South Korea, SungLyul is currently working towards his PhD in Music Composition at the University of Southampton under the supervision of Professor Michael Finnissy.
