Postgraduate student wins prestigious scholarship
Postgraduate research student Austin Glatthorn from Music has just been awarded a prestigious scholarship from the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst, the German national academic exchange service).
The award will fund work in Germany towards his PhD thesis, 'Opera as Representational Culture During the Dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire', at the University of Southampton. The fellowship will support a year of study at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz Institute of Musicology and archival research in Mainz, Frankfurt am Main, and Regensburg.
