Join us for an exploration of the cross-artform partnership between Hetain Patel and composer Amy May, who have worked together on Patel's films The Jump, Don't Look at the Finger and Trinity.

Published: 14 October 2021

Hetain Patel is a visual artist and performance maker. He is interested in connecting marginalised identities with the mainstream in an effort to destabilise notions of authenticity and promote personal freedom. Working collaboratively with artists across disciplines, and with family members and non-professionals, Patel enjoys working across multiple languages, culturally and artistically.

Amy May is a London-based composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist, specialising in the viola and violin. She writes commercial music for TV, films and advertisements, and collaborates with contemporary artists, performers and filmmakers. May plays viola and violin for the multiple Grammy Award–winning Hamilton and is the principal viola of the Heritage Orchestra.

Drew Crawford is a composer, producer, sound-designer, songwriter and lecturer in the University of Southampton's Department of Music. His work spans opera, theatre, dance, pop, installation, sound design, radio, TV, film, the concert hall, and digital platforms.

This event will be live-streamed, with accompanying British Sign Language interpretation.
