The final Hartley Residency of the 2018/2019 academic year.

The music department is delighted to welcome Rachel Cowgill (University of Huddersfield) for the third Hartley Residency of this academic year.

Programme:

Day 1: Tuesday 14 May 2019

11:00–12:30, Room 6/1077: Introductory seminar for postgraduates. Material that students should read in advance will be circulated on or shortly after 1st May.

14:00–15:30, One-to-one meetings between Rachel Cowgill and PhD students (appointments should be arranged through Amy Williamson, aw505@soton.ac.uk).

16:00–17:30, Room 6/1077: Formal presentation: Rachel Cowgill (University of Huddersfield), 'Cosmopolitanisms New and Old: Three Case Studies from London in the 1910s'. Chair: Jeanice Brooks.

17.30, Drinks reception in the Arlott Bar.

Day 2: Wednesday 15 May 2019

10.30-12.00, Room 6/1077: Formal Presentation: Jeanice Brooks, ‘Modern French Music: Translating Fauré in America, 1925–45’. Chair: Amy Williamson.
