Biomedical Electronic Engineering

A Taste of Biomedical Electronic Engineering for Year 12 Students

Biomedical Electronic Engineering stands at the interface of electronics and life sciences, specialising in digital healthcare technologies. This summer, sees the launch of an exciting new one week residential taster course, giving Year 12 students an introduction to this cutting edge subject. They will learn how to design and construct a miniature biosensor; analyse its performance by measuring samples of different diseases; and will also learn about miniaturised “Lab-on-a-Chip” diagnostics, smart prosthetics and signal analysis techniques for wearable healthcare.

This course runs alongside our highly successful taster course in Electronics and Computer Science. On both courses, participants will try out experiments in our state-of-the-art laboratories, learn from globally renowned lecturers, get to know our current students and recent graduates, live life on campus as a university student, meet leading employers at our Taster Course Careers Fair and hear about our £1,000 scholarship for participants.
