Education seminar
Since 1995 the worldwide rate of participation in higher education has jumped from 15 to 35 per cent, concurrent with rapid urbanisation and the growth of the middle class. The paper reviews this trend and its drivers, the global stratification of participation, and the implications of world in which the majority of people attend universities and other HEIs.
