Phyllis Lassner, Jubilee International Visiting Fellow at the University of Southampton

 

How have artists, painters, filmmakers and photographers depicted the Holocaust? What ethical and aesthetic decisions have defined their work? 

The one-day interdisciplinary symposium, organised by English in collaboration with Phyllis Lassner, Jubilee International Visiting Fellow at the University of Southampton, looks at painting, post-genocide landscape photography, contemporary cinema, and graphic novels from Europe and the US to explore these questions.

Confirmed speakers include: Nathan Abrams, Claire Gorrara, Becky Jinks, Tim Cole, Isabel Wollaston, James Jordan, and Phyllis Lassner.
