Health Sciences is one of the largest programmes in the UK and has been educating a range of health professionals for many decades and working collaboratively with other disciplines within the university and in close partnership with practice settings and clinical leaders.

We are one of the leading centres in the UK for research expertise and output with interests in cancer, palliative and end-of-life care; chronic health needs; and the evaluation of new ways of service and education delivery in healthcare. We emphasise the value of drawing on evidence based research to underpin decisions for practice. Academic staff are highly qualified and some continue to be active practitioners and /or researchers with a wealth of knowledge of clinical practice and healthcare leadership which they bring to the learning environment.
