Research Posts
The ANTC is often looking for new research staff to work on particular projects in the field of aerodynamics and aeroacoustics. For more information, please contact Professor Xin Zhang.
PhD Studentships
The ANTC is continually looking for post-graduate students to work on a broad array of topics in the field of aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, flow control etc. Fully funded studentships are often available - further details on the application process can be found within SES Postgraduate opportunities. Please state that you would like to join the Airbus Noise Technology Centre and that you are seeking a full studentship or contact Professor Xin Zhang for more information.
Current vacancies:
PhD studentships are currently available in the Airbus Noise Technology Centre (ANTC), in the School of Engineering Sciences. The projects are related to experimental and computational aerodynamics and aeroacoustics, including engine and airframe noise, and flow control. The aims of the projects include:
a) develop novel flow control methods, e.g. plasma actuators;
b) develop new computational methods for flow generated noise associated with engine and airframe noise;
c) establish aerodynamic and aero-acoustic models of important components of a large civil aircraft;
d) perform large scale computer modelling of airframe noise.
Students will also have the opportunity to use/develop advanced predictive methods based on computational fluid dynamics to simulate aerodynamics, aero-acoustics and turbulent flows associated with civil aircraft, as well as novel experimental methods.
The PhD studentships will provide good opportunities to work with one of the largest aerospace companies in the world, and explore relevant problems in the aerospace industry. For more information, including how to apply, please view the School's postgraduate opportunities page.
