Welcome to a guest talk by Dr Tomáš Dvořák who is a visiting scholar at WSA. Dvořák will address “Operational images at the threshold of visibility”: Taking Trevor Paglen's body of work as a case study, the talk will analyse the aesthetic, epistemological, and political consequences of the impulse to make the invisible visible in contemporary arts and visual culture.

Tomáš Dvořák is currently a visiting scholar at the AMT, his research focuses on philosophy and history of media and philosophy and history of science and the interrelations of these fields, especially media archaeology of science and knowledge. His visit is organised in the context of a mobility fellowship funded by the Czech partners and is part of a longer-term collaboration between FAMU and Winchester School of Art.
