Dr Huan Yu

Lecturer in Business Analytics

Dr Huan Yu is a Lecturer in Business Analytics within Southampton Business School at the University of Southampton. She joined the Southampton Business School in September 2019.

Huan completed her PhD in Management Science and Engineering from School of Management, University of Science and Technology of China. During her PhD, she is also a visiting research fellow at IESEG school of Management in Paris and National University of Singapore. Prior to her PhD studies, she had 4 years’ working experience in a national enterprise of Sinograin.

Research interests

Huan’s research interests are customer learning, demand modelling and decision-making optimization under uncertainty. She uses various business analytics tools, including machine learning and econometric methods, to develop customer behaviour and demand modelling. Recently she is working on data-driven research, including develop integrated estimation and optimization methods to improve business decisions, such us pricing, assortment, order and inventory decisions.
