AACSB, founded in 1916, is a global institution which connects educators, students, and business to create the next generation of leaders. AACSB’s mission is to foster engagement, accelerate innovation, and amplify business education.

Southampton Business School was awarded AACSB recognition for all programmes in February 2018. This prestigious accolade is awarded to business schools that demonstrate excellence in education, research and operations.

Association of MBAs (AMBA)

Regarded as the benchmark of quality in MBA provision, AMBA’s vision is to raise its profile and quality standards internationally for the benefit of business schools, students and alumni, and employers.

Southampton Business School’s MBA programmes have been awarded AMBA accreditation since 2005. The AMBA accreditation is awarded to institutions demonstrating excellence in the provision of the MBA programme.

The undergraduate BSc Accounting and Finance (and with Placement) programmes are accredited by ACCA and ICAEW.

Southampton Business School is a recognised ICAEW Partner in Learning institution as credit for prior learning (CPL), use of learning materials, and graduate recruitment.

Students successfully completing these programmes can expect exemptions from various papers. Please refer to the Programme Specification document for more details.

Association of International Accountants (AIA)

The Association of International Accountants, founded in 1928, aims to promote international accounting via a global network of 80 countries. 

The BSc Accounting and Finance (and with Placement), MSc Accounting and Finance, and MSc Accounting and Management programmes receive exemptions from various papers in Modules A-D. Please refer to the Programme Specification documents for more details.

Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)

Founded in 1912, the CII is one of the world’s largest professional bodies for insurance and financial planning. The postgraduate MSc Risk Management and MSc Risk and Finance are accredited programmes.

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

CIMA, founded in 1919, is the largest global professional body of management accountants. Students successfully graduating from the undergraduate BSc Accounting and Finance (and with Placement), BSc Business Analytics (and with Placement), BSc Business Entrepreneurship (and with Placement), and BSc Business Management (and with Placement) programmes can expect exemptions from various papers BA – F. Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development has more than 140,000 members worldwide. Founded in 1913, it is a leading professional association in human resource management. Students successfully completing MSc Human Resource Management are eligible for CIPD Associate Member status. 

Chartered Management Institute (CMI)

The Chartered Management Institute supports over 100,000 managers, promoting benchmark standards in management and leadership excellence. Students successfully completing the Master of Business Administration (MBA) full-time and part-time programme leads to Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Management.  

Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM)

IDM logo

Students successfully completing the BSc Marketing (and with Placement), and BSc Marketing with Study Abroad will only need to sit one additional exam to obtain a professional certificate in Digital Marketing from the IDM.

IRM (Institute of Risk Management)

The IRM provides globally recognised qualifications and training in professional enterprise risk management. The postgraduate MSc Risk and Finance is an accredited programme.

Athena Scientific Women’s Academic Network (Athena SWAN)

Athena SWAN is a UK based charter recognising and celebrating the advancement of gender equality. The University of Southampton is a founding signatory of the Athena Swan Charter and holds the silver-level award.

United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education (UNPRME)

Southampton Business School is a signatory of UNPRME, integrating the principles of sustainability and responsibility into all areas of operations, including the curricula of undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
