Miss Sukyoung Kang

Sukyoung is a 1st year PhD student in Marketing working under the supervision of Paurav Shukla and Meko So.
Sukyoung is researching consumer consumption journey in the digital environment. In her current studies, she aims to understand how customers’ digital consumption journey is influenced by the interaction of wider macro factors, such as national cultural typologies and the available digital infrastructure, with micro factors, such as consumer cognition and affection.
Sukyoung graduated with a Bachelor in Art and Bachelor of Business Administration with first class in South Korea (2010-2014). Prior to commencing her PhD studies, Sukyoung served military service as a financial officer and discharged as lieutenant (2014-2016) and graduated her first Master of Business Administration with first class in South Korea (2016-2018). She took a researcher role in Business Incubator at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) and Big Data Education and Research Institute. She also has industry experience in Germany where she completed her internship at Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). In 2020, she was awarded a Distinction in her second MSc in Marketing Analytics at the University of Southampton. She has won the prestigious South Korea Ministry of Education overseas PhD scholarships to study at the University of Southampton.
