Placement at Chalmers University of Technology
I went to the city of Gothenburg in Sweden for my placement – Chalmers University of Technology .
I applied especially for it as my third year project involved electrochemistry. At Chalmers I looked into lithium sulphur batteries that are used in portable devices but could be used in autromobiles in future. As an MChem student I was doing PhD work in the lab with a group of more than 20 people, it really opened my eyes to working with chemists from all over the world.
Sweden’s an awesome country and I got a great deal out of my time there. I would recommend other students sign up for the placement at the start even if you’re not sure what you want to do, to make sure you don’t miss out.
