I enjoyed the variety of topics that were covered, and the flexibility of my course meant I could always choose modules outside of my course subject area, enabling me to broaden my knowledge and hence improve academically. I had the opportunity to be a course representative, working closely with my course mates and lecturers at every point in my degree.

What is it like studying here?

Moving to Southampton was a turning point in my life and before I came I was anxious about settling in and making friends. Thankfully, the staff and lecturers at the University were very supportive in helping us to settle into university life and to improve our academic ability. I had the opportunity to meet some very inspiring lecturers and all the facilities were excellent, in particular the library and sports centre on campus. I also felt safe and at home around the University campus, which was very important for me.

What are you enjoying most about your course?

How has your time at Southampton helped you to grow as a person?

My time at the University of Southampton has helped me to develop a strong understanding in the field of Education and has also given me a good grounding in important employment skills, such as communication. Moreover, over the last three years I have become much more confident in what I do and when working with people.

What are you intending to do once you have graduated?

Studying at Southampton has inspired me to continue my passion for education. I will do a Masters in Management and Leadership, and I hope to use what I have learned to improve the education systems in the UK and in Cyprus.
