Remote sensing analysts work with data measured from satellite or aircraft to infer what it means about the world, presenting maps and other information to display the results. The role may also involve some fieldwork to corroborate the findings by taking field measurements.

Collecting and formatting image data
Maintaining knowledge of developments in the field through literature and attending conferences
Designing methods of collection or analysis of data

Processing images to create landcover maps

Collecting supporting data to corroborate remote sensing data analyses, such as field survey data
Preparing and deliver reports
Monitoring the quality of information gathered
