The turntable is supported on air bearings and is motor driven. It is capable of reproducing low continuous or oscillatory yaw motions.

A human may be positioned on the test rig at various positions relative to the centre of rotation.

The facility is used for fundamental and applied research into human perception of motion, biodynamics, postural stability and motion sickness.
