PhD Opportunities
As part of the Intelligent Structures for Low Noise Environments research programme, there are currently two fully-funded PhD positions available at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR).
The ISLNE project Team is currently expanding, with opportunities available for two fully-funded PhD researchers. The successful candidates will be based in the ISVR which is part of the School of Engineering at the University of Southampton . The two projects will contribute to the ISLNE research programme and will develop novel technologies for the reduction of noise and vibration in the maritime environment. Both projects are fully-funded for UK/EU candidates and are supported by enhanced stipends of up to £20k, depending on experience. The PhD researchers will have significant opportunities to engage with the academic and industrial partners within the ISLNE programme and significant funds are available to support both experimental work and attendance at international conferences.
The first project focus on the development of a small-scale, low-cost underwater vehicle for acoustic noise assessment (
