Southampton Law School has numerous links offering exciting exchange opportunities with partner institutions across many countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Various exchange opportunities are available for students

There are many reasons why you may wish to study abroad. These include enhancing your academic and professional knowledge, developing your foreign language proficiency and improving your employment prospects. It will also give you a chance to take a closer look at another part of the world and is guaranteed to be an experience that you won’t forget.

The Erasmus+ scheme

The Erasmus+ programme is run by the European Union (EU) and aims to enhance the European dimension of Higher Education and promote mobility within the EU through a range of educational activities. It aims are to boost skills and employability as well as modernise education, training, and youth work across Europe. 

Southampton Law School students studying on the LLB (European Legal Studies) programme are able to take advantage of a full year of study at one of our partner universities in Europe. Current exchange destinations for LLB (European Legal Studies) students are:

University of Athens, Greece; Università degli Studi di Bologna, Italy; Université Paris-Sud II, France; L’Université Lumiere Lyon II, France; University of Malta, Malta; University of Granada, Spain; Katholieke Universitet Leuven, Belgium; Université de Fribourg, Switzerland; University of Vienna, Austria; University of Bergen, Norway; University of Oslo, Norway; University of Stockholm, Sweden.

Other exchange opportunities

Students studying on the LLB (International Legal Studies) programme are also able to undertake a year of study abroad.  The School has existing partnership arrangements with the following universities:

Please note the above exchange partners are subject to change and may not be the same by the time you reach your third year.

We also welcome students from abroad to study at Southampton as part of the Erasmus exchange. They can choose from a wide range of different course options which constitute a real asset to their degrees at home.
