Real-world problems typically require solutions from across a wide range of disciplines. That is why our researchers and academics work closely with external organisations and with colleagues across the University, especially in areas such as chemistry and engineering, to ensure our work draws on the latest thinking and knowledge.
The Faculty of Medicine leads innovative learning and discovery for better health across the lifecourse - this is further enabled through our close interaction and integration with the University's recently developed £50 million Institute for Life Sciences (IfLS). The Institute enables integration of biological chemistry, micro and nano devices, bioengineering, computational modelling, signal processing and bioinformatics with our translational pathway and programmes in Medicine, providing a unique opportunity to drive learning and discovery in the Life Sciences and biomedicine.
