How to get involved
For all University researchers who are looking to showcase their projects on future Roadshows
'Bringing Research to Life Roadshow' is our itinerant platform designed to help researchers develop effective ways of sharing their work with the public.
The Roadshow tours both regional and national events between May and September each year and visits a wide variety of events, from community celebrations to country and music festivals.
In past years, we worked with research groups from across the University of Southampton and reached 20,000 people on average.
The Roadshow is currently focusing on smaller, local events with a strong community focus.
Following a break in 2020-21 due to COVID-19, the Roadshow returned with much excitement in July 2022 to participate in the New Forest and Hampshire County Show.
In 2023 we brought the Roadshow to Unwrapped Festival in Eastleigh on Saturday 10th June, to the New Forest and Hampshire County Show in July (Tue 26th - Thu 28th) and to Southampton Pride on Saturday 26th August.
This summer 2024, we are planning to bring the UoS Roadshow to the following events:

The Roadshow Awards are an opportunity to recognise those who have really gone above and beyond in delivering outstanding public engagement activities
In 2019 the Roadshow focused on 4 main events, from Glastonbury Festival to the Southampton Pride.
