Navigating Cyber Risks on Autonomous Ships: A Policy and Regulation Perspective

Fatima Ozcan: PhD Researcher - Institute of Maritime Law

Summary of the Project

I am currently involved in a project titled "Navigating Cyber Risks on Autonomous Ships: A Policy and Regulation Perspective." My research encompasses a thorough examination of cyber risks in maritime operations, including an analysis of the evolving landscape of cyber risks faced by autonomous ships and the potential incorporation of these risks into traditional marine insurance coverage.

Advice for future applicants to the New Things Fund

I think the timeliness of the project and how closely it is linked to Government ARIs is really important.

What you are most looking forward to from the funding?

I am particularly excited about the opportunity to expand my professional network within the policymaking community and contribute my insights and expertise to this advancing field.
