Nonlinear design

For experiments in many areas such as biology, medicine, the environment and engineering, data are best described by a stochastic model that is nonlinear in unknown parameters.

Common examples are category or count data, eg the occurrence or not of cracking in a manufactured unit. The demands from important application areas are driving rapid development of optimal designs for multi-variable experiments.

S3RI research in this field includes the following:
Optimal designs for generalised linear models
Designs for multi-variable polynomial splines
