Rad Ratings Card Game

What is this talk/activity about?

“Repairing radiochemistry’s reputation, isotope by isotope” will tackle the public perception issue surrounding radiochemistry. The project will pilot an Isotope card game to be disseminated to three schools targeting between 80-100 KS4 students. The project will expand on and apply key concepts of radiochemistry & radioactivity in the curriculum, whilst highlighting the role of radiochemistry in everyday life, potential career paths, and improving trust in radiochemical and nuclear industry. The impact of the card game methodology will be evaluated by written teacher observations and pupil feedback. This pilot will assess if this method of gamification is effective as a curriculumenriching activity for radiochemistry and potential scope for teachers to engage their students with radiochemistry outreach.
