University of Southampton student, Joseph Early joins the new cohort of Doctoral students
Joseph is one of 54 students in the 2019/20 cohort, which includes 19 Doctoral students and 35 Enrichment students all coming from diverse disciplines ranging from agriculture to engineering, and from law to health.
He says “Having now met the new cohort of students, I’m excited at the prospect of collaborating with lots of different people from different backgrounds and disciplines.”
Joseph completed an undergraduate degree in computer science and then specialised with a master’s degree focused on machine learning, both at the University of Southampton. He is motivated by the possibility for collaboration within the Turing, with a strong interest in helping others apply and understand machine learning in their domains.
The Institute supports students to undertake PhDs in a range of topics related to Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
The expanded Turing Enrichment scheme will open for new applications in November for start dates in October 2020 and January 2021.
