Government scientists are predicting the ‘perfect storm’ – by 2030 the world will need 50 per cent more food, 50 per cent more energy and 30 per cent more fresh water.
Professor Guy Poppy, Head of the School of Biological Sciences and a leading expert on food security, was recently invited to a prestigious meeting in China by Research Councils UK.
