An Engineering@Southampton Distinguished Lecture

We are delighted to announce that the first in a new series of Engineering@Southampton Distinguished Lectures will be given by Andrew Wolstenholme OBE and CEO of Crossrail, on Tuesday 17th February 2015. Andrew’s talk will be entitled “Moving the Construction Industry Forward”.

Talk Summary:

Why is engineering a great first degree? Why is the sector at a crossroads? How can you be part of a digital revolution in the world of infrastructure?

Andrew Wolstenholme will speak about the journey from being a Southampton engineering graduate to CEO of Europe's largest construction project - Crossrail. As a client, a contractor and a consultant, he has worked on and led projects across Asia, the USA and UK - from a brewery in Hong Kong, the new Terminal 5 at Heathrow to the £15bn railway being constructed under central London today.

Andrew will share some of his lessons learned and experiences gained from leading teams in the Army and the construction industry.

His full biography can be downloaded below.

The talk will take place in Building 176, Lecture Theatre 1025, Boldrewood Campus 18.00-19.00, with refreshments served beforehand from 17.30.

All University staff and students are welcome, but you must register in advance via Eventbrite: http://www.andrew-wolstenholme.eventbrite.co.uk and bring your tickets with you to the event.
