Disability and Employability Event

Do you want to find out more about entering the workplace with a disability, specific learning difficulty or long-term health condition? Are you interested in hearing from those who have done it before you? Want to know what support you could receive from employers?

On Thursday 4 November we will be holding our annual Disability and Employability Event, where speakers from a range of organisations will speak about their experiences of either working with a disability or of supporting others in the workplace.

The event will consist of a series of information videos leading to a live panel Q&A with employers and employees from organisations including KPMG, EmployAbility and UoS Senior Teaching Fellow Richard Cartwright. These panellists will share their experiences of working with a disability and the support offered by their employers/organisations to students with a disability, specific learning difficulty or long-term health condition.

Videos from our upcoming 2021 speakers are available below.

2021 Q&A Panellists

Tab Ahmad - CEO, EmployAbility

Richard Cartwright - Senior Teaching Fellow, University of Southampton

Liz Jessop - Development Lead, KPMG

Don't forget you can also book onto one of our Disability, Disclosure and Employability workshops or watch a panopto recording if you are looking for advice on disclosing a disability, SpLD or long-term health condition. You can also contact us at careers@southampton.ac.uk for any further questions or support.
