Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice
PGCAP, is a part-time, work-based, taught course that supports new academic staff to develop their academic practice skills and gain national recognition of their level of skill. (Fellow of the HEA).
Since March 2020 our focus has been to support the academic transition to online and blended teaching by offering as many tools as we have been able. The university actively supports educators to attain HEA professional to demonstrate commitment to high quality teaching. This can be achieved via our Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) (taught programme) or Professional Recognition of Educator Practice (PREP) (portfolio based).
The University also supports the National Teaching Fellowship (NTF) and Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) Scheme to celebrate outstanding individual and collaborative achievements in learning and teaching in UK higher education.
