Learning and teaching development

Working in partnership with experienced teaching and learning staff from across the faculties, there are a range of HEA accredited programmes for achieving fellowship recognition, and specialist continuous professional development opportunities for teaching and learning colleagues.

 

PGCAP

Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice

PGCAP, is a part-time, work-based, taught course that supports new academic staff to develop their academic practice skills and gain national recognition of their level of skill. (Fellow of the HEA).

PREP

An internal portfolio approach to HEA accreditation. Supports staff to develop their educational practice, knowledge and professional values and achieve recognition by the HEA at all levels of fellowship.

HEA Fellowships are an international recognition of a commitment to professionalism in teaching and learning in higher education.

ERIC - Education Resources Information Centre is an online digital library of education research and information. ERIC provides ready access to education literature to support the use of educational research and information to improve practice in learning, teaching, educational decision-making, and research.

HEER - The Higher Education Empirical Research (HEER) database comprises summaries of the latest published research on a range of topics related to higher education.

The Higher Education Academy 

JISC - provide digital solutions for UK education and research. It is a membership organisation, owned by the sector and providing services such as the backbone network infrastructure. JISC have a range of education and research resources available from their home page
