Once you have accepted an offer on the PGCE course, you will be sent information about pre-course conditions you need to meet. These include completing an enhanced DBS with the University of Southampton, and completion of an Occupational Health questionnaire. Both of these have a cost which you are required to pay. All such costs are non-refundable – including for candidates who subsequently do not start the course for whatever reason, including those who fail to meet other conditions of entry.
Please note that all university academic staff who are PGCE tutors and visiting their tutees in school hold Enhanced DBS Certificates.

I have been put in great schools for my placement and this has really set me up for my future career as a primary teacher. I was also lucky enough to travel to Kenya and teach over there. This was an incredible experience that I will remember for the rest of my life!
