After you graduate

Postgraduate study at the University of Southampton will enable you to push the boundaries of knowledge in your chosen field and make a real contribution to your subject.

Celebrating after graduation

We will provide you with an extensive support network, both during and after your time at the university. By the time you graduate you will have all the knowledge and resources you need for your next step, whether you choose a new career or further study.

When the time comes to move on after your postgraduate studies, you will become part of our global alumni community, with more than 170,000 members in 147 countries. As a member of this extensive network, you will be offered a series of benefits, services and events.

Developing your skills

Learning doesn’t stop once you graduate. The Science Learning Centre South East, which is hosted by the Southampton Education School delivers a host of continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities. Courses are run at specially designed facilities on campus and at various venues around the South East, giving teachers, lecturers and support staff at all levels of experience the chance to refresh their skills and explore new areas of practice.

Employability

Professional research

A number of our postgraduate students continue through to do a postgraduate research degree, which is another career progression towards becoming a professional researcher.

Hopefully, with the knowledge and experience that I gained at the University of Southampton, I will lead my school efficiently and successfully, relating our school to the world view
