We offer three main routes through to a masters degree in Education. All three routes provide ample opportunity for students to develop important skills and enjoy the challenge of marrying issues of research, practice and policy in the complex field of Education.

1. MSc Education

This programme provides a modular route to the award of MSc Education, with a wide range of taught modules available for you to choose from.

An opportunity to develop important skills
A Masters degree in Education

Through this route you can gain a general MSc Education degree or choose one of the pathways within it allowing you the opportunity to focus in one of our areas of specialism. The two pathways we offer are: MSc Education Management and Leadership, and MSc Education Practice and Innovation.

Our pathway and optional modules align strongly with the research interests of our teaching staff and so tutors inject insights from their current and previous research into the learning that you will experience. The MSc is completed by working toward a substantial dissertation for which you will have the opportunity to plan, conduct and report your own primary research.

Programme tutor: Dr Andri Christodoulou

2. MSc Education (Online)

This is an online part time degree for education professionals seeking an innovative and flexible opportunity to study. It is available to both UK and International students.

Programme tutor: Dr John Schulz

3. MA Education Dissertation through Flexible Study - MA Ed Flex

The "Flex" is a very different approach to a masters degree which suits those students who already have strong independent learning skills and a clear idea of a topic that they wish pursue in depth.

Applicants submit an outline study proposal and each student is allocated an individual supervisor who will help to firm up the study proposal and support the student through the stages of the programme which allow for a gradual build up from short assignments, growing in challenge and culminating in a substantial dissertation.

(Please note, the Flex is a taught programme and cannot be offered by distance learning. It is also not open to students who require a Tier 4 visa in order to study in the UK).
