The Temporary Library launches in Berlin
WSA Associate Professor, and AMT member, Alessandro Ludovico’s new project launched on Friday in Berlin, at the transmediale festival.
The Temporary Library project starts from reconsidering libraries as dynamic and independent forms that can be created, contributed and shared. It metaphorically breaks the library walls, making a curated selection of publications exposed to a broader public, acting as both archive and distribution. The Temporary Library for transmediale, co-curated by Alessandro Ludovico and Annette Gilbert, has been conceived to reflect the history and participants of transmediale and the Berlin-related media art scene. Publishers has been asked to donate publications, and a specific space will be dedicated to read and get in touch. At the end of the festival the Temporary Library will be donated to the Universität der Künste, and will form a special collection, available to be temporary lent as a whole, under certain conditions.
