Why not try an online workshop today?

We also offer workshops for small groups at various times throughout the year, such as before exams.  Visit our Events page for more details about these workshops.

Mindful Fridays & Additional Sessions

Leaf in stream
Mindfulness involves meditation practices and non-meditation exercises

Enabling Services are running Mindful Fridays for students. These sessions take place every Friday during term time, from 1:00pm - 1:45pm at the Wellbeing Centre, 28 University Road.

This is an open group and all students are welcome to come along, whether you practice regularly or you want to try it out for the first time; or, you may wish to continue your practice following a mindfulness course.

The sessions are an opportunity to practise mindfulness meditation in a small group setting. Each week a selection of recorded mindfulness meditations will be provided and there will be time to reflect and share your experience with others if you wish to. It can also be a good place to meet others interested in Mindfulness.

Mindful Fridays take place at the Wellbeing Centre, 28 University Road. Please enter the Wellbeing Centre through the back door, and take a seat in the waiting area on the right. These sessions are open to all University of Southampton students and you do not need to book your place - just come along on the day. To see when the next Mindful Friday is taking place, click here to be taken to our events page.

8 Weeks of Mindfulness

Student walking on a path

Mindfulness is about learning to be in the moment and moving away from ruminating on the past or worrying about the future. Studies show that this helps to reduce the level of stress we experience.

In this course you will learn a range of formal and informal practices which includes meditation and a variety of cognitive exercises aimed at bringing greater awareness, clarity, concentration and choice to experience.

The course involves attendance at a group for 2 hours per week and daily home practice.

This course is for UoS students only.

If you are interested in finding out more or would like an application form please email

After you have completed an application form you will be invited for an informal pre-course interview.

This workshop was really helpful. I felt comfortable sharing my thoughts and will definitely be using some of the techniques we covered.
