Special interest groups

ILIaD is no longer active.

During 2016, a review of ILIaD concluded that the continuing provision of effective and sustainable support for staff development and technology-enhanced education would be best addressed by embedding the functions previously based in ILIaD within iSolutions, the Library, the Faculty of Social, Human and Mathematical Sciences, and Human Resources.

As an interim measure, if you have a question or require support in any of these areas, please contact either HR; your Business Relationship Manager (iSolutions); Academic Engagement Librarian (Library)  or the newly formed Centre for Higher Education Practice and they will be able to redirect you as appropriate.

Enhancement special interest groups (SIGs), bring together staff from across the University to look in more depth at specific aspects of education innovation and enhancement, or to further develop an enhancement related skill. Some are hosted by ILIaD, others by subject specialists or faculty based senior academics and researchers. Although the aims of the groups do vary, the majority fall into one of the following categories:

Professional development groups - bring together those who share an interest in expanding their knowldge or developing their practical skills in a particular area of education enhancement or development.  These learning groups are supported by subject experts, where appropriate and meet together regularly over an extended period. They provide excellent opportunities to gain support and advice and apply your learning in your own or team’s work practice. Membership is open to all staff involved in teaching and learning activities.

Enhancement working groups - bring together those with a common goal or concern relating to an area of education innovation, enhancement or development. The groups research, discuss and report their recommendations for change to the Director of ILIaD/ PVC Education as appropriate. Membership of these groups is open to all staff (unless otherwise stated).

All current special interest groups are shown below:
