Southampton academics named as Fellows of The Alan Turing Institute

Dame Wendy Hall congratulates Southampton's new Turing Fellows.

Nineteen leading academics from the University of Southampton have joined The Alan Turing Institute as Fellows.

The Fellows are all established scholars with proven research excellence in data science, artificial intelligence or a related field drawn from the University including mathematics, computer science, medicine, ocean and earth sciences, physics, electronics and other disciplines.

They will work across the Institute’s different research challenges and will bring to the Institute specific projects covering topics from machine learning for space physics to AI and inclusion. They will also contribute to the activities and training at the core of the Institute’s mission and the ongoing development of the next generation of researchers.

The University of Southampton joined The Alan Turing Institute in April 2018. Southampton Turing Fellows join more than 280 new Fellows who have joined the Institute from its extended partner university network since October 2018.
