National Student Money Week returned in March 2024 with the theme Less Risk, More Reward: Maintaining your financial wellbeing at university. Alongside our partner Blackbullion, we hosted a number of events on campus to get people thinking about talking about money.
A special drop-in was run with activities by the Student Money Champions was a great opportunity to chat to staff members from the University’s wellbeing, sport, financial support, and disability and inclusion services. We were there to talk about the ups and downs of managing money and tell you about the support that’s available.
If you you would like to know more about the financial support available, you can find out more here or book an appointment with an advisor from the Financial Support Team.
The Financial Support team and Student Money Champions were joined by the SUSU Advice Centre in the library foyer. It was great to see so many of you and have to chance to chat about the support and resources available to help you manage your money(and pick up some freebies!).
Keep an eye on out News & Events webpage to see when we'll next be back in the library.
Our financial education partner Blackbullion were offering you the chance to win £500 for your emergency fund! To be in with a chance of winning you needed to register for a free account and take 10 minutes to complete the Risk pathway. While to competition may be closed you can still register with Blackbullion and complete the pathway to build your financial knowledge and confidence.
Financial risk can take many forms, from credit cards and loans to debt and gambling. If you’re affected by any of these, please get in touch with us at stufunds@soton.ac.uk .
