Roy Queree Expedition Bequest

This bequest may be used to support undergraduate or postgraduate students currently registered at the University of Southampton who wish to participate, either individually or as part of a group in expeditions.

The Fund is now closed for the current academic year and no further applications will be accepted.

A limited amount of money has been generously provided to support students who are undertaking an expedition.

If you would like to be considered for support from the Roy Queree bequest then you will need to download, complete and submit an application, along with relevant documentation.

After the closure date, a panel will  assess all applications and make any awards that they consider to be appropriate based on the criteria listed along with the information and documentation supplied. Please be aware that any award from the Roy Queree Bequest will be a contribution towards the cost. There is an expectation that students will actively work towards raising funds for the expedition themselves.

The bequest cannot be used to support participation in placements, fieldwork or in medical electives.

Criteria

In considering applications, preference is likely to be given to the following criteria:

Groups of Southampton students on self-organised expeditions that have clear academic aims and that are closely related to their studies

Groups of inter-university students, which include Southampton participants, on self-organised expeditions that have clear academic aims and that are closely related to the studies of the participants.

Individual Southampton students joining externally organised expeditions with clear academic aims

Individual students or groups of students from this University undertaking worthwhile projects which are non-academic in purpose or unrelated to their academic studies.

Individual students or groups who can clearly demonstrate that they have made significant progress towards securing funding to cover all expedition costs.

please note that once you have submitted your application you will no longer be able to amend any of the information.
