There is a range of English language support available for University of Southampton students. You can study English alongside your degree, or take a pre-sessional course to improve your skills before you start your degree programme.
Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses take place during the summer, before the start of the academic year. Students take a pre-sessional EAP course if they would like to improve their English language skills before they start their degree. Please see Pre-sessional programmes for more information.
Another option is the English for Academic Study course which runs over three semesters. Please see the English for Academic Study (EAS) website for more information.
The University runs an English for Academic Purposes support programme during term time, which allows students to improve their English language skills while studying for their degree. The courses are free to international students and also cover study skills.
